Saturday Night At The Movies Event

Thank you Vermont for coming out and supporting our second "Saturday Night at the Movies" Event - pick up Popcorn and support the Food Bank. Before we give you the results, we want to thank our wonderful staff and friends for volunteering their entire day to make this happen. Our managers Nichole and Eric had us well prepared with lots of popcorn (they had been popping for hours when we started) and we were proud to see our daughter Kat join the production team - the three of them a well "buttered" machine supported by our super host of the Double E, Kevin, while working in safe distances. Outside we had Animals and Entertainment: our Zumba friends Jenny Rooke starring as "CoronasaurusRex" joined by Jen and Margarita dancing in their hilarious costumes for 3 hours! Ryan Hanson performed some great tunes on the patio of the Double E lounge, supported by Eric Koval. And Ron kept the traffic lines moving and people smiling. The Essex Cinemas is a true family business and you are all part of the family - thank you. A huge shout out to our sister cinema Cumberland 12 in Plattsburgh where Leah and Craig Cathers spearheaded a similar event and beat their record again. Here are the results of yesterday's fundraiser:

In Essex, we almost doubled our previous results and collected a total of $3,834.83! Plattsburgh beat us and raised $4,487.50. Congratulations, everybody wins in this competition! Among the generous donations, we were amazed to find a hundred dollar bill, three $50 bills, checks for $100 and $200 and over 60 $20 bills. We are looking forward to sending this to the Vermont Foodbank, who has been extremely challenged and doing a great job in this difficult time. Our hearts are so full, thank you all and we will see you soon at the movies.
